This is our Stroup Group for exchanging Stroup information and thoughts. We are interested in all lines of Stroups. We have photos and documents from North Carolina, Georgia, Missouri, and Alabama Stroups plus others. I have Ethel Stroupe's files and am posting them as fast as I can convert them from Apple to Windows files. She has Bio's on most of the early Stroups which I have posted. We have several members that are very active in research and make frequent "road trips", so come join us and enjoy all the information available.

Above is Amanda Jane's purse that she carried to church every Sunday. The second photo is a note that her Grand-daughter Della Jane Stroup wrote explaining the meaning of the purse. Grandmother Stroup's Purse was given to Della Jane as a keepsake When she took me to church when I was too young to know what was going on, I emptied them in the seat by her side to play with . Thanks Grandma signed Della Jane This purse is in the possession of James Stroupe

These are photos of Grandpa Ef's gun. This gun was verified to me by James Stroupe. He said he can still see it sitting by the door at the old farm house. I did a little research on it and it is US Model 1842 Harpers Ferry. It is a percussion Musket, .69 caliber. It has a 42 inch barrel and has 3 steel bands. It also has a sling mount and also comes with a bayonet. On the metal plate for the hammer it is engraved Harpers Ferry 1845. This gun is in the possession of Michael Stroupe
In 1902 Ephriam Stroup started purchasing the estate (property) of deceased Walter Lindsay which was equally divided into 5 parts. He purchased the first parcel from B.F. Lindsay and his wife Nora for $40. On 6 May 1905 he purchased 2 more parcels, one from Jane A. Lindsay for $100 and another from W. J. Ferguson and M. M. Ferguson for $100. On 9 May 1905 he purchased another parcel from J. M. Lindsay and N. E. Lindsay for $85, Then he purchased the last parcel from R. L. Lindsay for $85, who was located in Calif at the time. For what ever reason Ephriam waited until early 1925 to register the deeds. These deeds are in the possession of Jim Stroupe. Deeds #1-#3 Deeds #4-#5
