Transcript of James Strain Will
I give and devise to my daughter NANCY E. STRAIN; and to her children, if she ever has any. The following property; stated above, also two milk cows with their calves, one feather bed, the one she now Calmest, also with all the bed clothing, pillows, as having made for her self. Also one woman's or side saddle the one she Calmed. the ward robe, and trunk that she Calmed, the same number of plates cups and saucers, pot ware and I device and direct that my daughter Nancy E. Strain shall have the privilege at the death of my wife, of taking the Negro girl Amanda with her Increase if any, if she so desires. At the appraised valuation, as a part of her distributive share of my Estate. If she refuses to take the Negro girl Amanda, then some one may take her of the Seagate of this property. Under the same restrictions, as all the above named here in.
ITEM EIGHT;
I devise my Executor to take charge of my farm or plantation, so far as to rent out the same Annually, for a just part of the production, or so much per an acre, of what is produced there on, which ever appears to him. But always reserving the garden or any patches my wife selects for herself. For the support of my wife and daughter Nancy, from the proceeds of the farm. Also paying my Executor a reasonable fee for his trouble, of gathering the crop. The balance to be equally divided between my other children above named. With the exception of Catherine. M. HARBIN, wife of JESSE W, HARBIN, Should the sale of my personal property amount to more than pay my just debts, the balance, to be equably divided as aforesaid, with the aforesaid exception. I devise and direct my Executor to withhold in trust, the proportional part in the above named property of my daughter Catherine Harbin. Only to pay over to her, when in his judgement she actually needs it, for the support of herself and children.
ITEM NINTH;
I devise and direct, that when the time arrives for the distribution of my Estate, both real and personal. That my executor shall with out delay proceed to distribute to each of my children before named, their full proportional part of my Estate. With the exception of my daughter CATHERINE M. HARBIN, The wife of JESSE W. HARBIN, as noted in item eight. But at the death of Jesse W, Harbin, if she's his wife, and still survives, then to pay over to her the whole amount due her. but if she should die before her present husband, then to withhold the whole in trust for her children.

I give to my daughter Catherine M. Harbin, wife of Jesse W. Harbin, and her children; Lot of Land no. Seventy Eight 78,

I do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true Last Will and Testament of the writer named JAMES STRAIN Deceased , so far as I know and believe. And that I will, well and truly EXECUTE, the same. As line devised herein as the LAW, requires. I will make a true and perfect INVENTORY of all such goods and CHATTELS. So help me God. Benjamin F.
